The Catalan club have confirmed that the goalkeeper is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has suffered ankle ligament damage and will be out of action for three weeks, approximately, according the the club.

The Dutch goalkeeper picked up the knock while training with his national team in preparation for Monday's World Cup qualifier between Netherlands and France.

Cillessen left the Dutch camp to return to Barcelona, who on Monday confirmed the injury.

"Tests Monday confirmed that first-team goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has suffered sprained ligaments in his right ankle, an injury that will keep him out of action for approximately three weeks," a statement read.

The injury will rule him out of Saturday's game against Deportivo La Coruna, while he will also miss matches against Manchester City, Valencia, Espanyol (Catalan Super Cup) and Granada.

Luis Enrique will cover the absence with Jordi Masip, the first team's third choice goalkeeper.

The club also confirmed that Sergi Roberto has an abductor injury in his right leg. SPORT had already reported that the right-back will be missing against Depor but could be back for Man City.
